Sayyid Sameer Ali is passionate about the intersection of spiritual, mental, and holistic wellness. He has over a decade of experience as a chaplain, having worked in both university and hospice settings.
Having studied in the traditional Islamic hawza, he has specialized in Islamic philosophy. Sayyid Sameer holds a MA in Religious Studies from Stanford University, and during his studies he wrote and published on Islamic manuscripts related to traditional Islamic medicine and hikmah.
He then began his career as a chaplain, learning to be present with patients and clients during their most difficult times as they faced hospice and end-of-life situations. He learned to provide supportive presence, inviting clients and families to explore their emotional and spiritual postures.
Sayyid Sameer also served as a Muslim chaplain at Marquette University (Wisconsin), where he collaborated with student leadership, building strong interfaith bridges and providing pastoral support to Muslim students throughout the variety of crises they faced.
He continued his studies and obtained a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands (CACREP accredited), focusing on clinical knowledge around mental health needs of the population. He currently serves as a mental and spiritual wellness consultant, bringing his extensive experience and knowledge to serve the community.
